There are moments when emotions refuse to stay in their lanes-when happiness spills over into tears and pain quietly curves into a smile. This poem lives in that blurred space, where the noise of victory and the fear of defeat both fade away, and what remains is the quiet strength of meeting oneself.
Some pain cannot be explained to anyone; it can only be turned into verse. So I did.
English Translation
I was so happy that I wept, I wept so much that I smiled. When life asked its questions, I answered in silence. Sometimes I lost myself in the crowd, sometimes solitude embraced me; the pain that no one could understand, I turned into poetry. I kept pausing at the turns of defeat, yet something within me kept moving; people thought I had broken, but I lifted myself up once again. The moisture in my eyes was mine, the smile on my lips was mine too; what the world saw as weakness is what taught me how to live. Now I crave no noise of victory, nor does the fear of defeat haunt me; the one who has learned to meet himself- who can ever bring him down? I was so happy that I wept, I wept so much that I smiled; every broken moment of mine, I made into a mirror of my soul.
Reflection. This poem is about reconciliation-not with the world, but with the self. When joy and sorrow stop being opposites, and when both tears and smiles are owned without shame, a quiet invincibility takes root. To meet yourself fully is to become someone no defeat can topple.
If these words found a place in your heart, I'd love to know what they stirred in you. Poetry lives in that space between the writer and the reader, where meanings multiply and emotions echo.
